Shortly before Christmas, Danish Composers’ Society advertised on behalf of the Nordic Composers Council the position of a project manager for the Nordic Music Days festival, which we are working to hold in Scotland in 2024 in collaboration with the Scottish contemporary music scene, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and others.
By the application deadline, a total of 71 applications had been received from all over the Nordics, and among the many well-qualified applicants, the choice has now fallen on Rachel Faulkner.
Originally from York, Rachel holds a BA in Public Media and Business Studies from the University of Leeds. She is married to a Scotsman, has lived many years of her life in Scotland and now resides in Billund, where she has lived with her family for the past 9 years.
Rachel has been at the helm of several large cultural projects in the UK, Australia, and Denmark. She has many years of experience with the cultural sector in both Scotland and Denmark and a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the cultural infrastructures and ways of working in each Scotland and the Nordic countries.
Rachel has taken up the new position on 1 March, and we are very much looking forward to the collaboration!
