The Council of Nordic Composers

The Council of Nordic Composers is an organization working for the interests of thousands of composers of classical music, art music, electroacoustic music, sound art, music for film, jazz, opera, noise, and theatre music in the Nordic countries. The members are the societies of composers in Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Faroe Islands. The Council of Nordic Composers was founded in 1947. Among our longest running projects is the festival Nordic Music Days, each year hosted in a different country.

The president of the Council of Nordic Composers is Jørgen Karlstrøm, the chairman of the Norwegian Society of Composers.
